This person will be directly responsible for influencing all aspects of Olmstead’s Data Management focus, with an emphasis on data solutions and tools, delivery, project management, and client engagement. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in Data Management consulting, providing cost-effective, high quality, customer-centric solutions and ongoing trusted advisory relationships with C-level executives including CDOs, CIOs, CTOs and COOs. This person will be recognized for their ability to leverage, establish and deepen executive relationships and drive consulting opportunities utilizing their professional network, previous client impact, and domain expertise in Data Management in the investment management industry. Collaborating with members of Olmstead’s client relationship and delivery teams, this person must be a self-starter who drives engagements from inception to successful conclusion. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • A member of the leadership team, this person will help grow Olmstead’s Data Management business, elevating the Olmstead brand, and increasing client awareness of our capabilities.
  • Refine and develop the data-centric approach and methodologies which may include areas such as: data strategy, data governance, data lineage, analytics, business intelligence, data architecture, data quality, master data management and data integration and delivery.
  • Build senior level advisory relationships with existing and potential clients; convert relationships with executives into long-term consulting relationships that extend across multiple assignments.
  • Lead and participate directly on consulting assignments, helping to manage the actual consulting engagement and interacting with clients as the senior member of the consultant team.
  • Help recruit, develop, and retain Data Management consulting professionals to support the firm’s ambitious growth targets for Data Management.
  • Play a lead role in brand building, messaging, thought leadership and IP creation by authoring white papers, blogs, social media, presenting at industry conferences.
  • Work collaboratively with other Olmstead leaders and consultants to ensure that Data Management grows and develops and is aligned with corporate strategy.
  • Identify additional business opportunities for continued account growth, including through relationships with software vendors and partners.

The Person:

  • At least 5 years of management consulting experience, 10 years of asset management industry experience, and a proven track record of consulting to the investment management industry.
  • Domain expertise in specific areas of Data Management such as: data strategy, data governance, data lineage, analytics, business intelligence, data architecture, data quality, master data management and data integration and delivery.
  • Working knowledge of investment systems supporting the front/midde/back office (e.g., OMS, Performance Measurement, Accounting, Client Reporting)
  • Exposure and experience with Data Management vendor solutions; best-of-breed, integrated, hosted, outsourced including vendor selections and evaluations
  • Incorporated Data Management and project management tools and methodologies to manage and deliver projects successfully
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue business development opportunities for consulting, serving as a trusted advisor and interface with executive level clients.
  • Preferred industry prominence and referenceable contributions to thought leadership, publications, white papers and industry conferences.
  • Proven ability to lead and operate successfully in a collaborative organizational structure.
  • MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred; Bachelor’s degree required.

Olmstead is currently hiring a Client Reporting Business Analyst to support our fast growing Client Experience & Engagement practice (CE2), working on sales and servicing projects in the investment management industry.

Specific Responsibilities:
  • Valued team member of projects across Olmstead's CE2 offering, including Client Engagement Lifecycle Strategies, Vendor Selections, and Solution Implementations
  • Lead business analyst efforts on Vendor Assessments and Implementations for Client Reporting, Sales Enablement, CRM, and/or Digital/Web solutions
  • Author business requirements, design specifications, and test plans/scripts
  • Document as-is and to-be process views
  • Bridge gap between client's business and IT personnel

Requirements:
  • Brings hands-on experience with investment management sales and service processes and materials, including Client Reports, Pitch Books, RFPs/DDQs, Fact Sheets, Client Onboarding, and CRM
  • Has the ability to work independently and also contribute as part of a project team

Olmstead’s Data Management team is one of the fastest growing in our industry and we are seeking energetic, detail-oriented investment data experts to fill multiple full time roles. The ideal candidate will have 5 - 10 years’ experience in financial services specializing in a data profiling, analysis, modeling, metadata or a similar function. As a valued member of our expert data management consulting team, you will serve a valuable role on delivery engagements including implementing data hubs, Master Data Management solutions, data consolidations and migrations, and Data Warehousing. The right candidate will have a proven success delivering data management technology projects within an investment management firm or solution provider to the investment management industry, and has used popular data management tools to mine, analyze, transform and integrate data. The position will require operating at multiple levels at our clients including getting into detailed data analysis and requirements, producing client deliverables and/or managing other analysts.

Key Responsibilities:
As a key member of the Olmstead Data Management team you will work closely with other Olmstead team members. The primary objective is to elevate the client’s capabilities in the areas of data analysis, modeling, metadata management and data integration by applying Olmstead’s tools and approach to execute the following types of consulting activities:
  • Assess current state capabilities, identify gaps versus leading practice and recommend future state data requirements.
  • Identify opportunities for new workflows, third party ‘glossary/metadata’ tools, database architectures, and third party pre-existing data models.
  • Work closely with business and technology stakeholders to assist in understanding and documenting data requirements, lineage and partnering with IT data integration and data warehouse teams to ensure requirements are effectively executed.
  • Help define Data Modeling naming standards, abbreviations, guidelines, best practices.
  • Enhance or design data model review processes based on client requirements.
  • Based on requirements, combine datasets in order to produce data mashups as answers to business related questions.
  • Counsel with other Subject Matter Experts at Olmstead on specifics topics (e.g. Trading, Performance, Operations, and Accounting) in order to accurately capture existing business rules/principles.
  • Interact with business and IT stakeholders on best practice point of view.
  • Deliver compelling presentations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Produce internal thought leadership, blogs and collateral on current issues and trends; internal knowledge sharing.
Experience Details:
  • Analysis and modeling experience for investment data for domains such as Security Master, Trade Master, Entity Master, Account Master and/or Client Master a key requirement.    
  • Hands-on experience with both the business side and IT side implementing or supporting an MDM and/or Data Warehouse and Reporting IT solutions is also required.
  • Expert knowledge of SQL, data modeling tools, and data profiling tools is required.
  • Utilize strong business knowledge of the Investment Management industry and common data management operations.
  • Possess deep insight into business process as it relates to system integration and interface.
  • Possess strong knowledge of source data or data marts along with the ability to unravel existing reporting logic back to their source systems.
  • Knowledge and use of a third party tool (see below) is required. Experience with MDM systems such as MarkitEDM, Eagle, AIM Gain are a plus.
  • Broad understanding of the role of data management within global markets organizations, information flow, and data governance issues.

We are helping a large financial services firm implement a new performance measurement and attribution system.  Our client requires additional expertise to supplement its existing team.  The business systems integration consultant will be responsible for supporting data analysis, mapping and integration between core accounting applications and the performance measurement and attribution solution.  The ideal candidate will have strong data analysis skills, strong SQL skills and proven experience integrating accounting data with performance or risk applications for institutional asset management firms.

While these roles are more technical in nature, our clients value individuals with a good background in managing requirements and testing, leading teams, good communication skills and the comfortable working between senior business and technology executives.

Skills Required:
• Demonstrated track record of delivering technology solutions for  investment management firms and strong understanding of front office process, middle office, data warehouse, business intelligence, and terminology.
• Curiosity to better understand what you do not know well and willingness to work hard to continually grow
• A computer science degree, or 5-7 years working in a technical role.
• 7-10+ years of experience in delivering technology and/or software development projects, progressing in complexity and responsibility

Olmstead is seeking an experienced Marketing Manager with a minimum of 5-10 years’ of experience to work 20-25 hours per week to manage multiple marketing initiatives in support of current and planned business growth. Experience or exposure to the financial services or investment management market is preferred, but not required. Working alone and with members of Olmstead’s sales and delivery teams, this person must be a self-starter who drives marketing programs from inception to successful conclusion. 

Specific Responsibilities: 
  • Create internal and external marketing and promotional materials, both print and electronic. 
  • Recommend, implement, and maintain website design, operation, and content, consistent with company messaging. 
  • Conduct social media outreach and manage Olmstead updates on LinkedIn. 
  • With help from consultants and management, design, create, edit and distribute thought leadership materials, company literature, and other forms of communication. Includes case studies, white papers, press releases, executive bios, corporate newsletter content, social media content, and speaking proposals. 
  • Research conference opportunities, drive planning and coordinating conferences and Olmstead events and working groups. 
  • Manage and drive the company Marketing calendar (conferences, publications, events, etc., with accompanying materials required), ensuring coordination with appropriate media editorial calendars. 
  • Manage information related to clients, prospects and our target markets in salesforce.com, website, client holiday gift/card lists. 
  • Copy, edit, proofread, and revise communications. Includes all types of communications such as proposals, RFPs, mass emails; may include reports for clients. 
  • Research industry and competitive trends.
The Person:
  • At least 5-10 years of marketing experience, ideally in the consulting and/or asset management industry, with a proven track record of success in marketing to the investment management industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify, pursue, and complete marketing efforts to drive brand awareness, market presence and sales.
  • Proven ability to lead and operate successfully in a collaborative, matrixed organizational structure.
