The Senior IBOR Business Analyst will report to the VP, Director of Program Management and will be a key member of the IBOR team.   The objective of the Investment Book of Record (IBOR) program is to integrate an outsourced Portfolio Accounting System along with a core set of middle office services and to establish an in-house, real-time, central repository of transactions and history across eight Investment teams.  The program has about a dozen primary sub-projects and a number of smaller secondary sub-projects.  This multi-year initiative was launched late 2013 and will proceed over the next 24-30 months.
This position requisition is to provide a 6-12 month, full time contractor, a Senior Business Analyst who will be responsible for the gap analysis.

Documenting the shortfall between service capability and service requirement for each of the in-scope functions;
Work with team members to map out and document business requirements
Translate business requirements into functional specifications
Develop and execute testing procedures
Work with development group to ensure that all design questions (e.g., application security, data feeds, etc.) are addressed through the business analysis process
Support project tracking and monitoring
Manage low complexity projects (e.g., non-political, data/workflow oriented)
Serve as subject matter, process, and/or operational proxy for end users in area of focus
Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley and other regulatory requirements
Take on other responsibilities as assigned

Skills and experience required:
  • Experience with fund accounting and or significant experience with application integration of systems throughout the middle and back office of traditional asset management firms
  • Prior custodial experience is preferred but not required
  • Experience documenting requirements and workflows 
We are currently assisting a large financial services client to implement MarkitEDM and are looking for strong business analysts with experience implementing MarkitEDM.

Skills and Experience needed:
  • 5-10 years of experience implementing enterprise data management initiatives preferably within Investment Management firms.
  • Prior experience with MarkitEDM executing data projects, preferably within an Enterprise Data Strategy Program.
  • Strong securities master experience preferred
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and best practices.
  • Ability to manage scope, drive issues to resolution, and to quickly and independently assess items that require escalation.

Our client requires additional expertise to supplement its existing team.  The ideal Project / Implementation manager will have strong project management expertise and proven success implementing performance measurement and or risk applications.

Skills and Experience needed:
  • Experience with performance (or risk) leading end-to-end implementations of performance measurement and attribution systems such as (FactSet, StatPro, Vestek, Thomson Periscope, Eagle Perform, BI-SAM).
  • Experience consulting preferred
  • Project Management Professional certification preferred but not required

The business analyst will be responsible for supporting the project manager to identify and document the business requirements and support the project from analysis through testing.  The ideal candidate will have strong performance measurement and analysis skills, proven experience implementing performance measurement applications and strong fixed income and devatives expertise.

These roles are accountable for supporting client implementation and upgrades of investment accounting software solutions.  This is a customer-facing software implementation Project Manager role, implementing a cost basis product to global tier-1 institutions.

Duration: 9-12 months 

Supports the integration of tax lot accounting integration into large and complex investment accounting solutions.
Functions as an integral part of a larger team of technologists, subject matter experts, project managers, and client                           stakeholders to achieve success
Leads small to large sized client facing engagements and initiatives
Provides detailed data analysis with ease and synthesizes information to communicate to stakeholders of all levels
Provides consulting and knowledge-transfer to clients regarding best practices and technical know-how
General Skills and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business or Software Engineering required.
Fund Accounting experience required
Prior Consulting experience and a consulting background is highly preferred
Solid understanding and experience with Project Management concept such as; planning, scope, management, communication, budget and schedule management, risk issue tracking, provide leadership to team and client, drive projects, pulls together very clear status reporting and issue escalation as required.
Knowledge and understanding of software integration and implementation for products and services within the financial services, securities and brokerage, and mutual fund or hedge fund industries.  
Strong group and executive level presentation skills with the poise and presence to professionally respond to sometimes difficult questions.

We are currently assisting a large client with a migration of portfolio compliance tools.  The first phase of this project is to support the data analysis and mapping from prospectuses, Investment Management Agreements with the current system and to build the rules and data requirements for the new compliance system.  We are seeking individuals who have experience supporting these types of migrations with disparate skill sets.  If you are an individual with strong compliance experience analyzing and supporting business requirements for portfolio compliance, have supported the data analysis and rules creation or have deep expertise with the technical implementation of portfolio compliance tools we want to speak with you. 

Required Experience:

·         5+ years’ experience in investment management portfolio compliance.
·         Prior experience working with proprietary or 3rd party compliance tools
·         Bachelor’s Degree.

We are assisting an Investment Management firm in developing and implementing a new Portfolio Accounting strategy.  Our client is looking for an Advent Geneva Subject Matter Expert who would function as a Senior Business Analyst, who can facilitate the transformation from the client’s current portfolio accounting platform to Advent Geneva.

Duration: 6-9 month implementation

Relevant skills and experience required:

  • 10+ years of portfolio accounting expertise
  • Strong  investment management and operations background to assist the client with the evaluation and selection of a deployment option
  •  Lead the  implementation of  the solution and migration from client’s current platform
  • Identify and validate business requirements, write functional specifications  and drive QA and testing
  • Strong communication and SQL skills
